The 86th Annual St. Louis County NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner Featured Keynote Speech and Commemorated Various Community Leaders
ST. This significant event, commemorating Juneteenth and advancing the fight for racial equality, was proudly chaired by OnderLaw in support of the NAACP’s mission.
Organized by the NAACP, the Juneteenth Freedom Fund Celebration featured a diverse range of activities and programs aimed at engaging the community, promoting education and fostering meaningful dialogue.
Benjamin Akande, Stifel Financial Corporation Global Human Resource Enterprise senior vice president, delivered the 86th Annual St. Louis County NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner keynote address. He spoke about the importance of establishing a rapport and connection with diverse constituencies at all levels of government and in the community.
Among the celebration’s honorees were Dr. Dwayne Proctor, Missouri Foundation for Health president and CEO; Dr. Steven Player, BJC Healthcare vice president of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Cheryl Adelstein, Jewish Community Relations Council deputy director; Deaun Flowers, Lou Fusz Automotive Network; Laraine Davis, Maryville University vice president, Community and Government Relations, Donor and Alumni Relations; Jose Gomez; Laborers Union Local 110 vice president; and a posthumous award to the late-Demetrious Johnson, St. Louis philanthropist and humanitarian.
All proceeds from the dinner support local St. Louis County NAACP programs and projects aimed at improving adult financial literacy, voter engagement, economic equity and educational opportunities.
