About Carl Blackburn
Carl Blackburn began working in the jewelry business as a child, helping his father Charles, a Santa Cruz estate jeweler. He later became a sales representative for the family’s antique jewelry business, specializing in Art Deco and Victorian styles.
Carl eventually began designing his own fine jewelry, and in 1995 launched his first handcrafted jewelry line in Bali, Indonesia. A graduate of the Gemological Institute of America’s Jewelry Design Program, he now runs C. Blackburn Jewelers in the beachside neighborhood of La Jolla Cove. His boutique focuses on designing custom engagement rings and selling precious estate jewelry.
